N Srinivasan, former ICC and BCCI President, and the owner of Chennai Super Kings, has said that the Chennai-based team is all set to make a comeback in the next edition of IPL. He was addressing the Madras Advertising Club’s annual awards function where he hopefully said that former India captain, MS Dhoni, would lead the side once again when their suspension is lifted in 2018.

The Chennai franchise was suspended for two years from IPL for their involvement in the match-fixing scandal. But on his keynote address, Sreenivasan repeated that his franchise was banned illegally and not a single player of CSK was accused of anything.

“M.S. Dhoni, wearing yellow and leading the CSK team onto the ground. Come 2018, there is every possibility of it happening. We will be back with a bang,” said Srinivasan in his keynote address. The former ICC chief also added that the absence from the field for two years has not reduced his interest in CSK and they will possibly do everything to bring back the fan favorite team in to the action
