England won the Under-17 World Cup in stunning fashion as Phil Foden the Golden Ball winner and Rhian Brewster’s eighth goal of the tournament powered the Young Lions to a 5-2 World Cup final win over Spain.

It was a sensational turn-around as England was behind 2 goals in more the half an hour of the game.Steve Cooper’s side did not lose hope and enthusiasm as they showed endless reserves of energy.They matched the skill and emulated England U20s team who won their World Cup in June.

Barcelona’s Sergio Gomez gave Spain the lead after Morgan Gibbs-White failed to make the most of a chance for England in as early as the third minute.Spain were desperately close to making it 2-0 after Jonathan Panzo’s forward foray left his side exposed on the counter. Moha raced into space but, having established an almost unmissable position, took a heavy touch that Curtis Anderson pounced on.

The Manchester City playmaker Foden and Liverpool forward Brewster they have two of the nation’s most prized talents.Brewster’s header gave England hope at 2-1 down, Morgan Gibbs-White grabbed the equaliser.Phil Foden put England ahead with a neat shot and after that it was one-way traffic.Chelsea defender Marc Guehi got on the scoresheet, prodding home the fourth from close range.The fifth and final goal came in the last 5 minutes of the game from Foden, taking a deft touch before rifling past Alvaro with power and precision.
