The Archery Association of India (AAI) has banned coach Sunil Kumar for life for hugging a female member of Britain’s team during the Youth World Archery Championships held in Argentina in October.

An AAI official, Virendar Sachdeva revealed that Kumar hugged a female member of the Great Britain team which didn’t go well with England team officials. British Archer complained against him for inappropriate behaviour, and has since been suspended by the AAI.

Following the incident, Kumar wrote a letter to the team manager, apologising for the incident.

But Kumar was sent back to India as soon as the news went over the whole tournament and also an investigation has been initiated to the probe.

“We have sought all the reports from the (international) federation and the (Britain) team,” AAI secretary general Anil Kamineni said.

Among all these allegations, Indian team won three medals, including gold in mixed recurve junior team event in the tournament.
