Kidambi Srikanth enters final of French Openseries and will face Japanese shuttler Kenta Nishimoto

Kidambi Srikanth is in his dream run this year. Back to back Superseries finals have made the Indian shuttler enough confident to face any opponent in the World. He’s made it to half the finals (5 out of 10) he appeared. He have won three Superseries title from four finals this year. The entry to the finals of French Open Superseries is his fifth of the season and first in his career.

The semi-final was really a proud moment for Indian badminton as two Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy faced each other. Srikanth lost the first game but took over next two sets to enter the finals on Sunday.(14-21, 21-19, 21-18)

Srikanth will be aiming to win his fourth title of the season. He will meet Kenta Nishimoto of Japan, who defeated Anders Antonsen 21-17, 21-15 in the other semi-final.

In the first set, HS Prannoy dominated over Srikanth by (14-21) victory. Srikanth played with ease that helped Prannoy to score.

But Srikanth bounced back to win the next two sets(21-19,21-18), eventhough Prannoy really made a great effort to defend Srikanth. The game went on for 62 minutes to confirm the victory.

Srikanth and Prannoy have faced each other four times, in which Srikanth have three and Prannoy have won one.

In women’s singles India’s PV Sindhu failed to find the momentum as in men’s single, Sindhu lost to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi and crashed out of the tournament losing 14-21, 9-21 in just 37 minutes.
