PV Sindhu beats Carolina Marin to win Indian open series title

Mighty Sindhu took revenge for her loss at the 2016 Olympics by beating Carolina Marin in straight games to win her maiden India Open super series title

Ace Indian badminton star PV Sindhu beat Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marin 21-19, 21-16 in the title clash for the Indian Open Super Series in New Delhi. The match may have been decided in two sets but it was one that was evenly matched and Marin kept fighting till the end in front of the home crowd.

With the stunning atmosphere in the Siri Fort Complex, Sindhu took 47 minutes to win her maiden home super series crown. Each and every stroke was cheered and every point won was celebrated noisily.

Almost throughout the match, Sindhu  was in great form broke all the tactics of world champion. Marin was doing the chasing and only once in the first game, at 18-17, that she enjoyed a lead. Then after a referral that went in favor of sindhu, the score level became 18-18. From there Sindhu managed to grab the game with a mighty smash.Sindhu during her Six years of international career  has bagged two Super Series titles (China and India Open), two bronze medals at the Worlds championships and an Olympic silver medal.
