Kapil dev helped India to beat mighty West Indies side to lift the 1983 Cricket World Cup. It was one of the greatest moment for the sport in India, and in the following years,the game emerged as a national addiction.Kapil is considered as one of the finest all-rounder India have ever seen.
Now he credits Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni as the ones who changed the face of Indian cricket.While speaking to International Business Times ,Kapil said,“All three are different kind of cricketers. They brought a new generation of people to the ground. That was very important”.
He added:”Sachin was instrumental, playing for 24 years and inspiring so many people to take up the game. Virender Sehwag changed the style of modern-day cricket.Dhoni came from a small town and made it big. Every Indian now will be dreaming of becoming like Dhoni.”
Kapil also praised on Virat Kohli’s Team India for not getting distracted by the crisis situation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the Lodha Panel recommendations,earlier that day. He is very happy for the urge of modern day cricketers to stay fit.
