Age is just a number for Venus Williams(37),she becomes the oldest women to reach the finals after defeating Caroline Garcia.She overtakes the 36-year-old Martina Navratilova in 1992 as the oldest woman to reach the final of the season-ending championships.Venus will be facing Caroline Wozniacki in the finals.

The American lost the first set 6-7(3-7),but she recovered in the second set 6-2 and won the third set 6-3 to win the semi-final over France’s Garcia and make her first final since 2009.

Garcia had claimed the final spot in the season finale after winning successive WTA titles at the Wuhan and China Open, but her impressive form was ended by 2008 champion Williams.Venus will be aiming to end a nine-year WTA Finals title drought when she plays Wozniacki on Sunday.

“One more match and I’m going to be playing against one of the best players in the tournament, another Caroline, and it’s going to be like deja vu,” Williams said.

Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki, secured her place in finals by beating Czech Karolina Pliskova 7-6 (11-9) 6-3 in Singapore.Pliskova’s defeat means Simona Halep will remain wold number one at the end of 2017.Its been seven years since Wozniacki reached the WTA finals.

“That was a little bit crazy. It was a rollercoaster, I’m just happy I got that first set under my belt,” said Wozniacki.

“I’ve been playing really great tennis this week so to be in the finals, it means a lot to me.”

Williams holds a 7-0 winning career record over 27-year-old Wozniacki and has only lost one of 15 sets they’ve played.
