India’s star opening batsman Rohith Sharma will be declared as the vice-captain of the Indian team for the Champions trophy.  At present, Ajinkya Rahane holds the position of Vice captain. But Rahane’s out of form and injury has given Rohith a chance. It is reported that the BCCI and selectors are finally sure about Rohith’s new responsibility.

Rohith, informed the media in a press conference which took place after the IPL that he is ready to lead team India in T20 format, and also stated that captaining in IPL is much different from international cricket.  He indirectly included that it is not good to compare his captaincy skills with that of Kohli who is currently leading India in all the three formats.

Kohli had a disappointing IPL season with his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore , and on the other side, Rohith has acquired three title during the course of five years. Rohith started his captaincy career in 2013, and in the same year the ‘Hit man’ managed to win the title for Mumbai Indians.
