Rohit Sharma cameback with a bang hitting a ton against New Zealand. It was about time for him to have a big innings, after failing in the first two ODIs against New Zealand.Sharma scored his 15th One Day International Century and 1st in this series in the third and final ODI against the Kiwis in Kanpur on Sunday.

It was not the usual Rohit Sharma as  his innings was slow in the beginning,he reached the three-figure mark off 106 balls when he took a single off the bowling off Tim Southee. It took him 11 fours and 2 sixes to reach the century mark. Rohit scored a century in the ODI series against Australia as well and has been in fine form since then.

Rohit is the second batsman only behind the captain Virat Kohli hit five ODI tons in 2017.The Indian opener leveled with Virender Sehwag’s tally of 15 hundreds and is now the fourth highest in the list of most ODI centuries scored by Indians behind Sachin Tendulkar (49), Kohli (31) and Sourav Ganguly (22).

The Mumbai batsman also completed 150 sixes in ODIs.

Rohit also completed 1, 000 runs in One-Day International cricket this year when he scored the 71st run in his innings. He is second to reach this mark and as always Virat Kohli leads the list.Interestingly, this has been the fourth time in Indian cricket’s history that two Indian batsmen were quickest to breach the 1000-run mark in a calendar year in ODIs
