Kidambi Srikanth beats Lee Hyun Il to hat-trick Super Series Premier title.

Kidambi Srikanth clinched his third Super Series Premier title with a dominating straight-game victory. The complete control of the game was in the hand of Srikanth as the Indian show cased a brilliant performance in the Final against Korean veteran Lee Hyun Il on Sunday.

Srikanth thrashed Lee 21-10, 21-5 to win Men’s singles Denmark Open Superseries. Srikanth was flawless and it just took 25 minutes for him to clinch the Superseries title.

The first game started neck to neck as it was at 4-4 in the early stages of the match. But Srikanth took full control of the match in stunning style as his smashes and cross court shots came to the fore and ended the set 21-10 even though Lee scored a couple of points.

The second game was much easier for Srikanth as at one stage he lead 11-1. It took hardly 15 minutes for Srikanth to wind up the game 21-5.

“I am happy with the way it went for me, it was fantastic. I beat some tough players this week. I can’t even say it’s a dream come true because I never dreamt of wining three titles this year! I really want to continue playing well,” Srikanth said on the win.

With the win, Srikanth won his third Super Series title in his fifth final of the year. Earlier this year he won the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier and Australian Open Super Series earlier in the year.

It is Srikanth’s maiden title at Denmark Open Superseries and also he became the second Indian after Prakash Padukone (1980) to win men’s single Denmark Open title.

With this win, Srikanth has now won five Super Series titles in his career, including China Open 2014 and India Open 2015.
