MC Mary Kom, a nightmare for all her opponents, the five-time World Champion, assured her fight in the finals of the light-flyweight category at the Asian Women’s Boxing Championships after beating Tsubasa Komura from Japan. Mary Kom just proved that she still has the ability to win against any rival with no doubt. She defeated Tsubasa Komura in a unanimous 5-0 difference to reach the final clash for the fifth time in her six appearances in the game. If she manages to win the finals, this medal will be her first gold medal in the 48kg category as she used to fight in the 51kg category before. Mary Kom will be fighting against North Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi in the finals.

Mary Kom showed a leading form in all the three rounds of the contest, overthrowing her opponent in every manner. However, it was Tsubasa Komura who started well, taking lead attack against Mary Kom. During the final stages of the first round, the five-time World Champion found her rhythm and landed a couple of solid jabs on her rival. Both of them fought largely on defensive tactics. Mary Kom seemed to show lot of patience in the first round and changed her strategy in the second round and she increased the pace of her attacks. The final round was so easy for her in beating her opponent leading her to victory.
