Barcelona’s Argentine legend Lionel Messi posted a video on Instagram featuring his 2-year old son singing in Catalan which went viral on social media.

There were protests going on in Barcelona against the independence of Catalonia from Spain. This issue has been a major political crisis world has seen recently.

By posting this video on the social media, it seems Messi have taken his stand on the Independence of Catalonia fro Spain.

Among the flooded comments under the post, it was his Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique’s comment which drew everyone’s attention. Pique wrote,“In Catalonia they never stop indoctrinating children with ‘Jean Petit qui danse’….. (the title of the nursery rhyme).”

Messi and Pique’s club finds itself at the centre of the crisis, as if Catalonia gets its independence from Spain, Barcelona have to leave the Spanish League which the players and club doesn’t want to happen.

In the Wednesday’s UCL match against Olympiakos at the Camp Nou a near 50-metre banner produced by Barcelona called for “Dialogue, Respect, and Sport” before kick-off as Barcelona continued their plea for both sides of the political divide to reconcile their differences.
